Stats
On G.A.I.A character have 4 different stats that represent their abilities. These stats are Might, Agility, Wits, and Spirit. A normal starting character has 50 EXP to spread across each of these stats when created. A starting character must have at least 5 in each stat, and may only have a max of 20. A character has a max that that they may have in a stat dependent on their post rank, known as as a stat cap.
- Might - Might is a representation of a character physical prowess and brawn. It determines a character physical strength, the damage they do with melee attacks. The character stamina and their resistance to physical damage.
- Agility - Agility is a representation of a characters acrobatic ability and speed. It determines how fast a character can move, how nimble they are, how high or fast they can jump as well as damage that they do with range attacks.
- Wits - Wits is a representation of a character mental faculties. How insightful they are, how perceptive of the world around them and how accurate they are with both melee and ranged attacks. Wits also acts as a resistance to any mental based effect of another character Awakenings.
- Spirit - Spirit is a representation of a character force of will. Its main function is that of the use of Awakenings, as well as a character resistance to Awakenings used by another character that does damage in a non-physical manner.
Across all stats, a score of 10 is considered average, 30 that of a professional, and 50 the height of normal human potential. This is why even at legendary rank, a character has a stat cap of 50, however Equipment and Awakenings can allow a character to go beyond 50. However Equipment, and Awakenings can not cause any stat to surpass 100.
EXP (Experience)
A character can gain EXP in one of three different way. Earned EXP may be spent on a one for one basis to increase one of the characters stats, up to their stat cap of their current post rank. Player should keep track of where EXP was earned, and where it has been spent. A character may decide to not spend EXP immediately when it is earned, this is so that a character who is unable to spend EXP due to their stat caps is able to use it once they rank up.
- Fights/Contests - A character may earn EXP by competing against another player character. This can be from a fight, a sports game, or even something more intellectual like a game of chess. The contest/fight section of the thread (Excluding before/aftermath) should be around 5 post per player. All character involved in the contest, gain 1 EXP regardless of if they win, lose or draw. A character may only gain a max of 5 EXP a mount from contests. (If a contest is a couple post short of this, and those involved really think it should be worth EXP. They may ask a member of staff who will say if it warrants it or not.)
- Event/Solo Events - A character may gain EXP from Events. Event are thread run by a member of staff, and upon completion award up to 5 EXP. A Solo event is a thread marked as such, and that is at least 2000 words long, these will be graded by a member of staff and offer up to 5 EXP. A character may only gain 5 EXP from Event of either kind a month. Solo Event should be used when a character has been unable to take place in an Event, due to space limitation or a lack of events.
- Ranking up - A character that increase in post rank (Explained below) gains +5 EXP.
