Awakenings
Starting when a character reaches the 'Known' post rank, they gain the ability to unlock special abilities known as Awakenings. The nature of these Awakenings is tied heavily to the plot. When a character has earn the right to gain an Awakening, they firstly create a Awakening power and post it in a thread in the Awakenings section based of the rules in this thread, at which point it will be discussed and balanced to the system if it is not already. Then the character take part in an Awakening Event, a GM run event that ties into the plot of G.A.I.A. and brings their power to the surface. (Multiply character who are eligible to unlock an Awakening may end up being grouped together for these events.)
Awakenings come in 2 different types, and 3 different levels of power. These types are Passive and Active, and the levels are simply known as a Level 1, 2 or 3. A character who reaches another post rank and unlocks a high level Awakenings may either upgrade one of their current Awakening to the newly unlocked level, and gain one of the level that was upgraded, or simply make a new power of the level unlocked.
- Passive Powers - Passive powers, are power that require no activation and have no limit on their usage, however they are more strict in what they can and cannot be, and will have less direct impact from the character Spirit stats, then Active powers might. Some Passive powers, may be denied at a certain level, but allowed at a higher level depending on what it is.
- Active Powers - Active powers, have a finite use. A Level 1 Power may be used 3 times per thread, A level 2, 2 times and a Level 3, 1 time. A character may gain the same power multiply time, instead of a different one in order to allow them to have additional usages of a power. A character may only use a maximum of 2 Active powers in the same post, and cannot use the same active power multiply times in the same post unless the power says otherwise.
