The light tried to coax the boy out of bed. The boy responded by pulling the soft sheets onto his face and grunting softly. Not yet he whined in his head. Finally the alarm went off on his high end phone. He reached his bedside drawer in a haphazard manner. In his haste and general lack of respect for things, he ended up pushing the device off the drawer.
It fell with a resounding thud, which masked a second grunt that the boy issue. The soft carpet that lined the floor softened it's fall. The pane of the touch phone's glass was prevented shattering. He wouldn't have been to mad about it breaking, he'd just have to wait a bit and manipulate his poor mother into sending another one, asap.
"Today, on schedule." the relentless phone went on. Now Victor covered his face with a pillow, groaning into it. He heard the muffle plans about some date, a skype call to his ex-girlfriend, a call to his parents and then finally... The party that he had put up posters for late yesterday. "Cancel it all." He muttered. "Are you sure you want to cancel..." The phone repeated the events on his scheduler .
Finally Victor fought off his sheets and rolled over to pick up his phone, he squinted into it and read the events again. He swore, loud and clear, which he very often did when he was alone, but rarely in front of people... His phone could cancel the party, but it was too late for him to do the same. The boy thought it'd be a good way to get to know his fellow students at the academy... Also it would help lighten the mood after the infamous fire. Since there were no casualties, he didn't see this as inappropriate in any way.
The party was a good way to establish that he had his own house. A rarity, from what he had understood, especially for students. He had used a lot of emotional blackmail on his mother to get her to ease up, on the cash. Unwilling to put her precious son through any discomfort she doled out the money and along with it, bought him all the supplies he would need. These supplies included the house that was overlooking the nature district's river.
The place was better than what some of the professors could afford. Lucian despised his mother for a lot of reasons and felt no shame in using her affection as a means to his ends. The house would have been a waste without the housewarming party he had in mind. Slowly he eased himself off the bed and went about his morning business. He stood around sipping some coffee, standing by his window staring at the scenic, stream of water in front of him.
Late morning, almost noon... He was ready to venture into the streets to prepare for the party. He sincerely hoped he'd find some eager, younger lads to help him prepare for it. He was used to having a small posse back in school, where he was from. Of course he earned it and it took time... but one could hope. The boy strolled the grid like streets with ease, hoping for a run-in so he could spread the word about the party, if the posters hadn't done their part already.
